Who is responsible for your data

The person responsible for any personal data handled through this website (the “data controller”) is:

What this website collects

At this stage, this website does not ask you for any personal information. It has no user accounts, no forms, and no analytics or advertising cookies.

Visiting the website does not require any personal information, and it uses no analytics or advertising cookies. Personal information is collected only if you create an account, as described below.

It remembers the language you choose (English or French) in your browser’s local storage. That setting stays on your device; it is not sent to me.

If you create an account

To create an account I ask for your first and last name, your email address and a password. Your phone number is optional. I also record your preferred language, whether you asked to receive updates about Chi Balance, when you accepted the terms and this policy, and when you last signed in.

Your password is handled by Google’s sign-in service (Firebase Authentication). I never see it or store it.

While you use your account, I keep the classes you book or cancel, your place on a waiting list, the plans you request (a class pack or a subscription), the plans you are given, and their dates. This website stores no card details.

I use this information to run your account and the classes you book, which is why I need it (it is necessary to provide the service you ask for). Updates about Chi Balance are sent only if you ask for them, and you can change your mind at any time in your profile, or by contacting me.

Your account can be seen only by me and by the person who maintains this website. Actions taken on your account, such as giving you a plan, are logged for security.

Emails I send you

I email you about your bookings and plans: confirmations, class reminders, changes to a class, a place opening on a waiting list, the answer to a plan request, and a reminder before a subscription ends. I may also write to my students about classes, for example when a class is cancelled.

These emails are sent through Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, France), which receives your name, email address and the content of the email in order to deliver it. My record of an email is deleted within about a month of sending it.

Where your data is kept, and who helps me

Your account and bookings are stored by Google (Firebase) in its data centre in Belgium. Google’s sign-in service may process data outside the European Union, under the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

Class recordings are played from Bunny.net (BunnyWay d.o.o., Slovenia), at iframe.mediadelivery.net. When you watch one, your browser connects to Bunny.net, which receives your IP address and basic information about your browser.

To protect the website against abuse, I briefly count how often each action is used: by account, or by IP address for the renewal link in my emails. These counts are deleted after about a day.

How long I keep it, and deleting your account

I keep your account for as long as it exists. You can ask for it to be deleted at any time from your profile page (“Delete My Account”), or by contacting me.

When your account is deleted, your sign-in is removed, your name and email address are erased from my records, your future bookings are cancelled and emails not yet sent to you are deleted. A record that past classes took place is kept, without your name.

Services that deliver this website

The pages are hosted by Google (Firebase Hosting). To display them, your browser also loads code from two content delivery networks: Tailwind CSS (cdn.tailwindcss.com), for the page layout, and Google (www.gstatic.com), for the Firebase libraries. The fonts are served by this website itself. As with any website, these providers receive your IP address and basic information about your browser when it requests these files.

If you contact me

If you contact me by email, phone, WhatsApp or a private message on social media, I use your message only to answer you and to arrange classes or sessions, and keep it only as long as that takes.

Messages sent through WhatsApp or a social network are also handled by that service, under its own privacy policy.

Your rights

Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you can ask to access, correct or delete personal data held about you, or object to its use. Contact me using the contact details at the bottom of this page.

You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection authority:

When online booking opens

Creating an account and booking classes online will involve personal data such as your name, email address, phone number and payment records. This policy will be updated to describe that before those features open.
